The Delaware History Center will showcase five of its most exquisite dollhouses for the exhibit Wonderful World of Dollhouses.   The dollhouses span from the 1860s to the 1960s and each reflects the popular architectural style and interior design of the period.

Dollhouses on display include the McComb Dollhouse which was raffled at the great Centennial Fair in Philadelphia in 1864 and won by a Delaware family.  The six-foot dollhouse is elaborately decorated with miniature Victorian furniture.  The  Buffington House is a 1930s Spanish Revival House full of furniture in the Arts & Crafts Style.  The large-scale Patterson Dollhouse is a model of a real 18th Century house in historic New Castle that is furnished with Colonial furniture and even has a miniature skeleton in the closet.  The Edgemoor Dollhouse is a small-scale Victorian home, and the colorful Albert Dollhouse from the 1960s is made of the most modern materials of the day-tin and plastic.

Kids and adults will get a special look at five different dollhouses from the 1860s to the 1960s during the Dollhouse & Paper Doll  Family Saturday.  After the special tour, kids can make their own paper doll and tissue paper dress to take home as a souvenir.
