National Theater, Wilmington, Delaware, 1930

The National Theater, located at 810-812 French Street, was one of three theaters in Wilmington that served the African-American community. The other two theaters were the Liberty and the Hopkins.  Owner John O. Hopkins used the second floor of this building to host meetings and gatherings for the community.  Henry Szymanski took this photograph.
