In honor of our nation’s long heritage of free and fair elections, our current exhibit in the Willingtown Square Gallery of the Research Library features political memorabilia from our collections. Buttons, Ballots and Ballyhoo: Seeking Your Vote in Delaware will range from the late 1700s almost to the present, from the basic black-and-white printed pieces of the past to today’s multicolored brochures, T-shirts, nail files, and other items too numerous to mention. The exhibit presents the electoral process, presidential candidates (including Delaware hopefuls), Delaware’s congressional delegation and governors, and candidates for General Assembly and local offices. Some of the candidates past and present will be familiar, while others have faded into obscurity.

The exhibit will be on display from
November 1 until February 1, 2005,

during regular library hours,
1:00-9:00 on Monday and 9:00-5:00 Tuesday-Friday.

After you cast your vote on November 2,
visit us for a trip to the political past!
