Woolworth Lunch Counter, 504 Market Street
1940
Sanborn Collection

Lunch counters like this are no longer around.  When this store opened, this was
said to be the longest counter in the nation.  Mutzie Bellak remembers that "she
[Mother] used to let us go to Woolworth's 5 and 10 and get a tuna fish sandwich,
my sister and I.  We used to get a tuna fish and a Coke for 15 cents."  Today,
this store is the Delaware History Museum for the Historical Society of Delaware.
