In the fall of 1914, six years before the first commercial radio broadcast, baseball fans
relied on next day newspaper stories to hear about the World Series.  Imagine, then,  the
thrill of being able to watch the scoreboard change in (almost) real time at the Majestic
Theater with other fans!  No doubt fans were disappointed by the outcome of the series
between Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics and the underdog, the Boston Braves.
After losing the first two games at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, the team traveled to Boston
and lost the next two games, becoming the first team to lose the World Series in four
games.
