Smoke Eaters! Firefighting in Delaware is a special exhibition on Delaware’s firefighters, their changing role over the years,
and their importance in our communities.

Join us as we explore the history, stories and lore of firefighting throughout the state.

This exhibit will feature fire-related objects from the Society’s permanent collection as well as materials borrowed from
organizations and individuals throughout the state to tell the story of the individuals that not only dedicate, but tragically, give up their lives to protect others.
