| Back by popular demand, the Delaware Historical Society will once
again offer walking tours of Market Street from Fourth Street to the
North Market Street Bridge. This tour explores the stories of the
businesses and residents that impacted Market Street as it has
continually changed over time. Rather than focusing on the architecture
of buildings, this walking tour traces the evolution of Market Street –
how it has grown, developed, and changed.
These five guided walking tours will take approximately 90 minutes one way to the North Market Street Bridge. There is a significant amount of walking and standing so please wear comfortable shoes. All tours begin at 10:30, and group size is limited to 12 people per tour. Reservations are recommended (call 302-295-2388 or email agomez@dehistory.org) The tours begin at the Delaware History Museum and museum admission
is included in the price of the walking tour. A self-guided walking tour
brochure is also available free of charge at the Delaware History
Museum. |
