Cooks are encouraged to use pears from the
Read House pear tree which can be picked up
the week of August 4 - 8, 2008
during regular Read House hours (11 a.m.-4 p.m.)
 

On Saturday, August 9, 2008 between 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
return with your "culinary pear creation"
(and the recipe for your entry)
where a panel of celebrity judges
will choose the tastiest dish!

Winner's will be announced at 2:00 p.m.
on the day of the Festivus!

Three categories of winners - with prizes!
 -Youth (16 and younger)   -
Sweet    - Savory

(Each participant will receive copies of all recipes submitted.)

Cost: $5.00 Registration Fee per recipe to be paid
when you pick up your pears.

To register just call Katie at 302-295-3284
-we'll just need some basic registration information,
the name of your recipe,
and how many pears you'll need for your creation!

(to be returned with fee to the Historical Society of Delaware - 1 page)
 

It's a fun, delicious, and "peary" easy way to celebrate the Read House garden!
