The Read House is one of Delaware’s
grandest and most authentic early nineteenth century
residences. This exhibit highlights historic documents,
ongoing preservation activities, and journalistic and
artistic depictions of the Read House spanning two
centuries. Historians draw upon these varied resources
to verify how little the house has changed and
understand why.
