When December days become hectic and frigid weather forces all but the rugged indoors, reserve an hour to step into the past and discover how residents of the Read House and Gardens approached Christmas and the cold.

      From December 26-31, the Read House will feature our limited-time Read Family Tours.  Costumed interpreters will take visitors through the rooms in the mansion that have been restored to the Federal period.  Three of these rooms - the Nursery, third-floor Servants' Room and the Bathing Room - are on view only during these specialized tours!
