Ahoy Matey! Jolly Rogers in Delaware
(Grades K-4)

Teachers, would you like your students to learn the history behind one of the most popular movie subjects today? Book this program and your students will learn about pirates who visited Delaware in the 1600s and 1700s and find out how they really lived. They’ll be learning history, practicing their math skills and, using their imaginations in our pirate activities!

In Search of  Freedom: Delaware and the Underground Railroad
(Grades 3-6)

What was it like to seek freedom on the Underground Railroad? Students explore this question as they learn about freedom seekers and the brave men and women, both enslaved and free, who made this region one of the most successful routes to freedom in the years before the Civil War. The challenges faced by those involved in the Underground railroad are reinforced through primary source analysis.

Civil War Boot Camp: A Day in the Life of a Civil War Soldier

Students compare and contrast their lives today to those of Elizabeth Jones and Louis Redding, two children who lived in Delaware at the turn of the century.

History Tools: Learning from Primary Sources, Images & Artifacts
(Grades 4-6)
